Australian Idol is over, but rest assured as another singing competition will soon hit our Channel Ten screens. What makes this show diff from the others? Well not much really, besides the fact that there's no age limit and that anybody can enter whether you're a individual or vocal group. sound exciting? not bloody likely. looks more like a shit version Pop Stars. eww. let's not go back there again.

thought of the day: what happened to Casey?

SIMPLY WOW
Saturday 27th Nov 2004

COFA (College of Fine Arts) just had its recent exhibtion of the graduate works of 2004, as well as a screening of motion works (video, 3d, motion graphics, animation) from the Digital Media school. Alot of nice work at the screening, but the work that stood out the most and set the standard of the year was from Lisha Tan with Archentide (pronounced Ark-ken-tide for those playing at home). Simply amazing 3d work with an anime aethestic. It was basically a trailer to an epic war film. You know those Brave heart, Hero, Final Fantasy type shots of soldiers running into battle? Just like that, but in an anime/3d sorta way. Fucking brilliant.

McDONALD's FACE LIFT
Wednesday 24th Nov 2004

Take look at the new maccas. Gone are the days of the ugly plastic looking booth seats as well as the ugly dining chairs as we say hello to the most stylish fast food resturant. It looks like something from Ikea, which can only be a good thing. Continuing with their "new" McDonalds initiative (which started with the intro of salads and healthy food), people can now finally eat in style.

LINKIN PARK VS JAY-Z
Thursday 18th Nov 2004

Remember how Linkin Park's Reanimation CD was so hot?! A CD full of the illest remixes of their first album Hybird Theory, well this time they're doing it again with some sick ass collaborations with Jay-Z. That's right, Jay-Z the-ugly-rapper-who's-boning-hottie-Beyonce himself makes an appearance on the rock/alternate record. i was skeptical about this, especially how they're from two difference genres. But from listening to the fusion track Numb / Encore (from LP and JZ respectively) i've already wet my pants in anticipation.

LP + JZ: Collision Course is available November 29.

THE REAL INITIAL D
Saturday 13th Nov 2004

Out of all the inevitable things in this world, this has to be the greatest. That's right, the real live action Initial D movie has finally hit the streets. Staying true to its asian form, its full of Chinese (how weird they're not Jap) actors, with Jay Chou taking the lead as the drift whore Takumi and Anthony Wong as everyone's favourite car dad, Bunta. Personally, i think that fat old guy from the YnD series would fit the role better esp with his squinting eyes.

No idea when its released, if not released already. So if anyone has the movie, please give me a call.. lol
