AUGUST 2005

ONE TREE HILL
Wednesday August 31st 2005

Ok I've finally watched the season 2 finale of One Tree Hill and I must say, its fucken spectacular. I won't ramble on how much I love One Tree Hill, but I honestly do think it stomps on the OC. Yes thats right, One Tree Hill shits over the OC. Unlike the OC which was awesome in the first season and shit in the second, One Tree Hill carries on the awesomeness over the two seasons.

If you're a One Tree Hill virgin, I suggest you pop that cherry now!!

Oh and don't forget this name: Dan Scott. You'll see what I mean soon... ;)

LITTLE FISH PREMIERS
Wednesday August 24th 2005

This just in, the Australian flick set in Cabramatta Little Fish starring big names like Cate Blanchett (Lord of the Rings), Sam Neill (Jurassic Park), Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith), Martin Henderson (who?), Noni Hazlehurst (wtf?! lol), Dustin Nguyen (some Viet American dude), Lisa McCune (Ex Blue Heelers) and Anh Do (that funny comedian guy), is set to premiere on the silverscreen on September 8. Everyone's putting pressure on this film cuz, like water, the Australian film industry is in such a draught.

It also has a website.

KIM'S BIRTHDAY PICS
Sunday August 21st 2005

Last night even with only half of the clan at Kim's 21st, it was pretty fun. Maybe it was the champagne, maybe it was the tennis courts, or maybe it was the fried chicken wings. Whatever it was, I had a mad time looking like an idiot with my doubles partner, Ethan (fuck bro, we can't play tennis for shizzles), and jamming live on the decks. Too bad Paraoke was being renovated though...

To the people who didn't come (except the ones who were at a wedding or sick) Kim wasted $40 on you! EACH!! Hang your head in shame.

Pics here btw.

Thanks Phil for the link.

FINAL FANTASY VII: ADVENT CHILDREN
Wednesday August 17th 2005

This is the movie that Final Fantasy: Spirits Within should've been. It has all the elements that made the games so successful: the really out-there character designs, extraordinarily beautiful worlds, massive swords, and male characters with lavishly long hair (often mistaking them as females). The Spirits Within had none of these and it seems this time around, Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children, has it all.

Looking at the detailed screen shots and trailers, the movie looks fucken amazing, from the post-apocalyptic world down to the hotness of digital babe, Tifa. Despite all this, I hope the animation is not shitfuck shit like the wooden characters from The Spirits Within.

Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children is scheduled for Australian DVD release on October 26.

Thanks Halley for the DVD link.

HELEN's 20TH NOT SO BORING AFTER ALL
Sunday August 14th 2005

Helen's 20th started at 7pm. Me and some lads rocked up at 8pm and there weren't that many people there. An hour soon passed and we were still sitting in the cold. Lonely and shit. We rolled our eyes at one another as we thought it was gonna be a boring party. As the night dragged on, our hope was lost as we longed for our partying days back in the day. But alas, a miracle happened. People got up and started shouting, hugging and just being loud. Thanks to the wonders of alcohol.

What's the moral of the story? Julian is a sleeze (see pic above).

Pics up soon.

MOVIE USING DIGITAL CAMERAS
Friday August 12th 2005

Who would've thought you would use digital SLR's to shoot a movie? If you're bothered to read at all (which is probably none of you), then explore how Tim Burton's lastest stop-motion movie Corpse Bride uses digital still camera technology over traditional methods.

View the trailer.

DRIFT LIKE YOU MEAN IT

HOLY HABIB BATMAN! E-BOMBS?!
Friday August 5th 2005

Yes, you can now send bombs that actually blow up your computer through email attachments. Scary indeed.

MIGHTY MOUSE, MIGHTY MOUSE!
Wednesday August 3rd 2005

If you've never ever, and will never ever use an Apple computer, then you might as well skip this post. And if your a wacom user, you might as well skip it too.

Anyway, if you've ever seen those one-button Apple mouses/mice, and if you're like me, you would probably think it's the most ridiculous piece of habib on the planet. How do i right click on this one button mouse?! What? I need to hold CTRL and click? What a waste of time! THANKS ALOT APPLE FOR WASTING MY TIME!

Well, after reading my hundreds of complaint letters to Apple addressing the crapness of its one-button mouse, the boffins have finally brought out a new mouse that finally has more than ONE button. And what's it's name? Why its called the Mighty Mouse! But Johnny Habib, the Mighty Mouse looks the same as the old one but with a nipple.

Now you see deary, thats where the magic is. You can't see the buttons, because Apple uses this fancy thing called "touch-sensitive technology" which means your clicks are now rather replaced by taps (i think). So instead of right-clicking, it's now right-tapping.

What's also new about the mouse? Well, before you start pinching the "nipple", it's actually a 360 degree scroller. It's pretty much replacing the normal scrollers you may find on the today's mice. So instead of scrolling your stuff up/down or left/right, you can now do it diagonally or whatever. How cool is that?! Very cool indeed.

Besides the two tapper buttons, the Mighty Mouse also has two extra buttons on both sides that you have to squeeze to take effect. Now imagine kids, a game that allows you to squeeze their eyeballs by squeezing the Mighty Mouse! I'll leave to your imagination what other things you can squeeze on screen via the Mighty Mouse.

The Might Mouse retails for US $49 or roughly $64.1895 Australian. God bless xe.com

ANOTHER CABRA FILM
Wednesday August 3rd 2005

If you've read today's local paper The Fairfield City Champion, or if you've seen the robbery in Cabra last week, then you'll know about the new million dollar film based in Cabramatta (again). Solo, funded by Project Greenlight (originally developed by Matt Damon and Ben "I did J Lo" Affleck), the movie is about, wait for it... Sydney's underworld crime scene!

Now I've spent a great deal of time googling and going through movie databases to find bits of info about this movie. But after 3 mins, i found shit. So if anyone out there has info about this movie, giv me a yell.

Now all we need is a teenage drama series based in Cabra, about something like female teeny boppers working in Happy Cup who get slapped around by their R33 driving gangster bf's. Now THAT, would be awesomely cool.

NOW THAT'S GOTTA HURT!
Tuesday August 2nd 2005

Lesson: Don't fight with a porcupine.

SHOOT MARISSA, TODAY!
Tuesday August 2nd 2005

When you watch tv and there's an extremely annoying character on screen, don't you wish you had a gun to pop them one in the ass? But you couldn't because:

a) it's illegal
b) you can't afford one or
c) you really have a water pistol but your momma reckons it's cute anyway.

Well look no further because now you can! Check out some awesome gangster technology here. You can't really shoot them do death, but the gun-remote does the next best thing! Turns it off! or changes channels! Whether its knuckle buster cell phones or ipods complete with chrome spinners, this site's got the shit for turning you computer nerds into computer-nerds-trying-to-be-hard wannabes. Werd.

MY KEYBOARD HAS SCREENS
Monday August 1st 2005

Imagine a keyboard that shows you what each key is, despite whatever program you're in, each little key will dynamically change what it does by showing through its lcd face. That's right, the Optimus is a keyboard made up of tiny lcd screens. Short cuts on your keyboard will now be visual, instead of old school labels, and eletricity bills will sky rocket. Now imagine Tera Patrick as a shortcut next to the Photoshop one. OOooer.
