From the people that brought you such classics such as the Lion king and Cinderella, now bring you Brother Bear. Set in a land thousands of years ago occupied by Native American Indians where the most exciting time for a male is the time of “transforming” into a Man. An important event where the male that is being transformed into a man is given a random totem that he must respect and be associated with. Unlike Kenai’s (main character) brothers who are proud of their associated spirit, such as Sitka’s Eagle and Denahi’s wolf, Kenai is not very happy when he is given the, wait for it - the BEAR OF LOVE!
This is where all the fun begins, I won’t spoil it for people who haven’t seen it yet, but this movie involves a lot of very tearful scenes. Especially for the girls, where us males will only sit in silence, as the sad and emotional scene goes on. Lol. Along the journey, as you might have guessed it, Kenai (in bear form) will meet a little bear and will befriend him. As they evade Kenai’s sibling, who is trying to hunt them down, Kenai soon learns what the spirit of the BEAR OF LOVE is all about. Let’s not forget about the two moose that they meet along the way! They will crack you up like you’ve never been cracked before, especially there “I spy” game. Classic.
A great flick, though not the best from Disney. Especially how we were showered with Finding Nemo a few months ago, Brother Bear doesn’t even compare. But will have you laughing all the way anyway.
8/10
